“I came to Dhaka from Shariatpur when I was in class five. Result in PSC was not bad; I got a 4.58. I wanted to be a nurse. But given our financial situation, it was a farfetched dream. 4 years ago, I started working at a garment factory as a cutting helper. However, after getting married, I left the job. Both our parents live in Dhaka. My husband holds a job at Unilever. But with the salary he earns alone, it is difficult to fulfill all the family responsibilities. We also have a lot of dreams and aspirations for our children.
Thus, I have started working again at a garment factory. My youngest daughter is only nine months old, so it has been a tough choice to resume work now. Pay is good. As long as my children are studying, I don’t mind working hard.”
