Textile engineering is not a popular subject in our country. Even though it is technically engineering, it is different from all the other engineering disciplines. It is easy to land a job in textile engineering as well. This is because of lack of educated and skillful people in this field. We were facing some financial crisis at home. All of this led me to pursue textile engineering. I had a specific company in mind when I was looking for companies to do my internship in. However, eventually, I could not land that internship opportunity.
The company where I did my internship was located in Gazipur. I had to wake up really early in the morning. On the very first day, we realized that we were neither going to get paid nor were we getting lunch from the workplace. We were upset in the beginning but eventually, we realized that this is one of the best places where we can learn about “wet processing” because there are very few factories like this in Bangladesh. This uplifted our spirits a little.
On a brighter side, there was always shingara available at the shop nearby.
